ELECTRIC CHUTE MOTOR REPLACEMENT FOR ARIENS SNOW BLOWERS

This motor has two threaded holes along with new bolts to replace the stressed out nut and bolts that have been on the motor that you’re replacing. Also fit many other machines such as sears, yardman, etc…. I have found that the two styles of motors are basically the same. Difference is that one style has a rounded mounting area around the. Holes and the other has square fins around the hole. If you have the. Square fins, this motor will replace that style. The mounting holes the same location so it will be a direct fit. You look at the last picture that i have, you’ll see that it is a. Picture of the old style (with the fins). The red arrows point to the. Motor looks like the one in the picture in regards to the orientation of. Some older machines will have the gear on the opposite side. Diameter of the shaft coming out of the gear is 0.312 (5/16). Told that on some mtd and yardman units, some filing might be required. On the “ribs” on the opposite side of the gear to allow the motor sit flush on the bracket. Early machines had a bracket that had no hole for the shaft on the backside of the motor. As the chute motor designs changed, they slowly started to put a whole in the bracket (although not big enough for more chute motor changes). Eventually, the manufactures realized that they needed to make the hole bigger for future changes. So there are two options for those machines with a small opening. You could use a file or dremmel to remove. The rib material making sure. Into the round area around the. Shaft or into the casting bottom. You only need to remove a portion of. The “rib” material to allow it to sit flush. The second choice is to make the hole in the bracket larger. This way you will only have to do it once versus having to do it on another motor in the future. Also check to see if your connection is the same as in.
