Snow Blower (like new, less than 50 hours run time). This is a Sears Craftsman 5.5 hp, 24 inch. This item was a top-of-the-line self-propelled craftsman snow blower. For many years I enjoyed each winter using this snow blower to do all the driveways and sidewalks of one side of my residential block of homes. At the time I was the youngest homeowner on the block. However, time marched on and eventually I had to limit my exposure to the elements to my own property. The snow blower operated perfectly and because of its 26 inch. Width and two-stage mechanical operation was able to make small work of each and every snowfall. Because no replacement shell was available and the steel shell could not be welded it was determined that the snow blower could not be repaired. At the time of this finding, the closest model to the original one was the model offered here for sale. This model had been out of production since the spring but there were a few still available in selected Sears stores, including the Troy store nearest to me. Numerous improvements over the original snow blower had been made in the collection of ice and snow through the two-stage process so that that the snow blower would not become clogged with wet heavy snow. At the time of finding this broken part, time had taken its toll and I no longer could handle the clearing of snow or being out in the cold for any length of time. We had hired others to handle the clearing of our snow but kept the snow blower in a heated garage year-round. Over the years members of my family and occasionally neighbors, would use the snow blower for short periods of time during heavy snowstorms. This technician has been doing this kind of work for Sears for over 25 years.
